Welcome Bonus: Up to 33.6K miles for HSBC TravelOne Card

2025 Card Review: HSBC TravelOne Card

🎉 Welcome Bonus (till 30 June 2025)

  • New to HSBC Cardholders: Up to 33,600 miles for S$1,000 spend

    • First S$500 spend: 25,000 miles

    • Next S$500 spend: 8,600 miles

    • Definition of New to HSBC: at least 12 months must have passed since your last principal HSBC credit card was approved, and you must not have cancelled any principal HSBC credit card in the past 12 months.

  • Existing HSBC Cardholders: Up to 21,600 miles for S$1,000 spend

    • First S$500 spend: 13,000 miles

    • Next S$500 spend: 8,600 miles

  • You can spend either S$500 (for partial bonus) or S$1,000 (for full bonus). I recommend going for the full bonus—it gives an incremental 17.2 miles per dollar on the second S$500, which is excellent value.

  • Annual fee: S$196.20 (mandatory for bonus eligibility)

  • Marketing consent: Must agree to receive marketing/promotional materials during application

  • Spend deadline: By end of the next month after card approval

    • e.g. Approved in April → Spend by 31 May

  • Effective cost per mile:

    • New cardholder (S$1,000 spend): ~0.58 cents per mile

    • Existing cardholder (S$1,000 spend): ~0.91 cents per mile

  • 4 complimentary airport lounge visits per calendar year

    • Tip: Since your membership year may span 2 calendar years, you could stretch this to 8 visits

Recap: HSBC TravelOne Card?

  • Miles Earn Rates:

    • 1.2 mpd on local spend

    • 2.4 mpd on foreign currency spend (with a 3.25% foreign currency fee, meaning overseas spending comes out to 1.35 cents per mile, which feels a bit high)

    • HSBC revised KrisFlyer conversion rates in Jan 2025, so it is now 1 mpd (local) and 2 mpd (FCY) post-devaluation if you choose to redeem KrisFlyer miles.

  • 21 transfer partners, instant points conversions with no fees (for now)

  • Minimum conversion block of just 2 miles, after the initial X0,000 miles

Final Thoughts: Is it a good time to sign up for T1 now?

Yes!

The 33,600-mile offer is a 40% boost from their previous promo. If you truly qualify as "New to HSBC," this is a solid opportunity. Given how flexible HSBC points are, those bonus miles can unlock great value—especially through alternative frequent flyer programs.
