The Citi Rewards Card (CRMC) is an essential card for miles collectors, offering 4 miles per dollar (mpd) on almost all online transactions. With 11 airline transfer partners, this card offers outstanding flexibility for travel redemptions, making it one of the most valuable rewards cards in Singapore.

☐ Don't Bother Applying 🚫
MileWise Commentary: The Citi Rewards Card is a must-have for all miles chasers, offering 4 mpd on almost all online transactions. However, exclusions like travel and mobile wallet transactions mean careful spending is key. For everyday online spend, this card remains one of the best in the game! 🚀
Key Features of Citi Rewards Card
4 mpd on most online transactions (excluding travel and in-app mobile wallets)
S$1,000 cap per statement month for 4mpd earnings
Extendable to offline transactions with Amaze, but at 1% fee for all SGD transactions
No pooling of points among Citi cards
No issues getting the annual fee waived
Warning: Starting 10 March 2025, a 1% fee will apply to all Singapore Dollar (SGD) transactions.

Recap: What does Amaze card do, and how does it help?
Linking a card to Amaze means that instead of directly charging your transaction to your credit card, you first add (or "link") that card to the Amaze app. When you make a payment with the Amaze card, it automatically routes the charge to one of your linked Mastercard cards. This allows you to unlock extra benefits, such as:
FCY Savings – Overseas transactions are converted to SGD with an implict ~2% foreign currency transaction (FCY) fees added to Amaze’s FX spread.
Category Retention – The transaction's Merchant Category Code (MCC) remains unchanged, which helps preserve category-based rewards on your linked card.
Online Spend Classification – All Amaze transactions are coded as online, even if they were made in-store. This means you could dine at a restaurant or shop at a physical store, pay with the Amaze card linked to a Citi Rewards Mastercard (CRMC), and still earn 4 mpd on your spending!
Essentially, linking a card allows you to use Amaze as an intermediary that enhances the way your transactions are processed while still earning rewards from your underlying credit card!
Who Should Use the Citi Rewards Card?
Online Shoppers – Lazada, Shopee & Amazon are perfect for maximizing your miles.
Don't mind 1% fee on SGD transaction via Amaze – If you're okay with the 1% fee, using Amaze converts offline spending into online transactions, unlocking 4 mpd.
Alternative FFP (Frequent Flyer Program) chasers – With 11 airline transfer partners, Citi’s ThankYou Points offer more transfer partner options than UOB or DBS.
Tips to Maximize Your Miles with Citi Rewards Card
Pair with Amaze – Convert offline spending into online transactions to maximize 4 mpd earnings at a 1% fee
Stay Below the Cap – The S$1,000 cap resets each statement month, so track your spending.
Avoid Excluded Categories – Don’t use CRMC for travel bookings or mobile wallet payments, as they won’t earn bonus miles.
Redeem Before Canceling – Since Citi does not pool points across cards, ensure you use your ThankYou Points before closing your account.
Final Thoughts: Should You Get Citi Rewards Credit Card?
While the Amaze x CRMC pairing is not as powerful as before, I still see a use case for everyday online shopping. Just be mindful of the S$1,000 cap and excluded transactions to get the most out of it! 🚀
