2025 Card Review: Citi Prestige Card

2025 Card Review: Citi Prestige Card
Great for year one. Year two? Maybe not. Read before you renew!

The Citi Prestige Card is designed for those who appreciate premium travel perks and exclusive privileges. But with its high annual fee, does it truly deliver value? Let’s take a closer look.

Citi Prestige Card: MileWise Card Rating for 2025

☐ Core Card to Use 🔥

☐ Use Only When There Is a Promotion 🎯

☑ Apply Only for Sign-Up Bonus (SUB) 💰

☐ Don't Bother Applying 🚫

MileWise Commentary: While the S$545 annual fee might be the highest you’ll ever pay for a credit card, the current 50,000 miles sign-up bonus makes it worth considering. At roughly 1.1 cents per mile, it’s a decent deal. Add in unlimited Priority Pass lounge access (with one guest included), and the first-year benefits pretty much pay for themselves.

However, the second year is where things get tricky. Upon renewal, you only get 25,000 miles, pushing your cost per mile to 2.18 cents—which is more than you should be paying. That said, lounge access and airport limo rides do offer some value, bringing the effective cost per mile down a bit. But is it enough to justify keeping the card?

Key Features of Citi Prestige Card

  • Generic Miles Earn Rate: 1.3 mpd (SGD local spend), 2.0 mpd (FCY spend).

  • 4th Night Free Hotel Stays: A great perk in theory, but riddled with terms and conditions. You’ll save some money, but be prepared to jump through hoops.

  • Complimentary airport limo: Spending S$12,000 per quarter to unlock two free airport limo rides.

  • Unlimited Lounge Access: Includes one guest, making it useful for frequent flyers.

  • Buy Miles with Citi PayAll: A good way to earn miles on expenses you wouldn’t normally charge to a card.

Who Should Use the Citi Prestige Card?

  • Frequent Travelers: Those who can make full use of the 4th Night Free benefit and unlimited lounge access.

  • First Year Applicants: With the 50,000 miles sign-up bonus, it’s a solid one-year play before deciding whether to renew.

Follow These Tips to Maximise Your Miles from the Citi Prestige Card:

  • Use the 4th Night Free Benefit Wisely. Best applied to high-end hotels, but always compare with OTAs to ensure you’re actually saving money.

  • Charge Big-Ticket Items. Since this is a general spend card with no cap, large purchases can help rack up miles quickly.

  • Look Out for Sign-Up Bonuses. Citi often updates its welcome offers, so timing your application right can provide extra value.

Final Thoughts: Should You Get the Citi Prestige Card?

For frequent travelers who can fully utilize the benefits, the Citi Prestige Card offers solid value. But if you’re not using the perks, the S$545 annual fee is hard to justify. My take? Apply for the first year, enjoy the perks, and cancel before renewal.
